This past weekend we visited ‘Brides the Show’ and not only did we have lots of fun checking out the ‘Secret Garden’ catwalk show, but we also picked up on a few trends that will be hitting a bridal store near you, namely bridal separates – oh god I hear you cry, a wedding dress should be exactly that, a dress (and technically this is Wedding Dress Wednesday).
However before you dismiss it, consider tailored styling which suits your shape, fashion forward design, plus number of wears verses cost and surely it’s a win win!
So we have taken this inspiration and chosen one of the featured designers of ‘Brides the Show’ as well as a British favourite…Kate Halfpenny.
Kate weaves Brit cool with vintage inspiration to create truly stunning modern bridal wear. So much so that we were hard picked to find just one of her separate creations to talk about, so we may have gone a little off piste and chosen three!
Annabel lace tee, Dita corset and silk tulle Dita skirt
Swan tulle petal skirt and swan crepe scoop neck tee with chantilly lace sleeves
Iris French lace jacket with Andrea silk tulle and French lace skirt
All of these creations feature in Kate’s Flora Romance 2016 Collection and we absolutely love how the designs showcase a modern take on a traditional gown.
According to Kate’s website they are ‘inspired by the works of painter John William Waterhouse and the collection evokes a floral romantic vibe typical of this impressionist artist. Stunning silk crepe dresses with subtle, intricate embellishment complement the elegant form fitting looks.’ We couldn’t of said it better ourselves!
