I love a pocket! Okay, not any pocket on any item of clothing (although in jackets they are handy) but on wedding dresses!
Pockets have featured on bridal runways for a while now and whenever I see them I always feel they just add a touch of ‘cool’ – not in a 1990’s way cool but in a sophisticated Audrey Hepburn way cool.
I very nearly bought a beautiful Stephanie Allin dress with pockets (I hunted it down from a post I had pinned on Pinterest!) and a tiny bit of me to this day regrets not going for it. Not because I didn’t love my dress (I absolutely did) but purely for the pockets!
I got married in winter (in fact a year ago this weekend) and at that time of year/now it is pretty chilly so not only are pockets a ‘cool’ factor but they are also very practical in keeping your hands warm (no need for the emergency gloves fished out of someone’s bag along with some fluff), instead look effortlessly chic by putting your hands in your pockets!
That’s why this weeks Wedding Dress Wednesday is this stunning Rosa Clara dress called Dakar from her 2016 collection.
The design comprises of an embroidered organza dress and uber stylish overskirt in ecru, perfect for taking you from pocket perfection in the day to sleek silhouette in the evening!
The only risk is when your photographer wants photos of you and your partner, you are still pretending that you’re at your very own photoshoot – pockets and all!
