When it comes to planning the look and feel of your wedding we always recommend going for something you and your partner love rather than being dictated to by fashion and trends. However, it never hurts to hunt around for inspiration and then tailor this to your own personal taste. Each year Pantone announce their colour, or in the case of 2016, colours of the year – their prediction of the colour (colours) they think will be influential.
Apparently in 2016 as, “consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security are becoming more prominent.” (yes, we thought that was cheesy-as-hell and complete bollocks too, but stick with it….)
… “Joined together, Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.”
As we said, utter bollocks…. BUT….
Pale blues and pastel pinks do make for a beautiful wedding day colour palette and we also thought that for any Brides-to-be thinking about their Bridesmaid dresses for summer 2016, you may want to get on the case now. We love the high street for bridesmaid dresses but our advice is shop at least 6 months before the day. If you leave it too late you could run the risk of a guest wearing the same outfit as the bridesmaids (we’ve seen this happen).
Luckily there are already lots of pretty outfits in Rose Quartz and Serenity (AKA pink and blue!) for you to choose from. And we’ve found all of them on ASOS, one of our favourite websites. So why not embrace the “bra off, sweatpants on, wine-glass filled” pleasure, that is online shopping and start thinking about your best friends outfits… Simple!
