…The height of summer sees plenty of choice, those long lazy warm days (let’s all live in hope…) means an abundance of flower to choose from. How about considering Freesia’s for their dainty blooms and citrus scent? They look beautiful in all white displays but with an estimated 1,800 varieties, there’s also plenty of options for brides wanting a splash of colour.   As our pictures show, freesia’s look so pretty when teamed with other popular wedding flowers such as roses and hydrangeas.

… I love the smell of lavender.  Not the artificial room fresheners or those god-awful scented drawer liners – but real lavender.  Nothing says “Summer” more than sitting in the evening sun with the smell of lavender drifting in the air (usually with a nice glass of wine in hand).  It evokes memories of childhood for me as my Nan grew so much of it her garden, so for me it was a no brainer to add it to my own wedding flowers.  It can work in sophisticated bouquets teamed with white roses, or works equally as well as a relaxed display of wildflowers.

… A pretty basic name but Stocks are anything but average.  Famed for their gorgeous scent, these twisting spikes of flowers will add a statement to any centrepiece or floral display. Apparently Stocks also represent a long life full of happiness and success – so a pretty good symbol for any marriage!
