As someone who is incredibly nosey I love seeing what other people use as part of their everyday make-up routine. I’ve also see a few posts where people have totted up the cost of their looks so part out of intrigued, part fear, I thought I would see exactly how much money has been spent on my go-to look of the moment.
I prime my skin with the Smashbox Hydrating Primer to give a much needed moisture boost to my dry skin before going in with my foundation. I was having a bit of a clear out the other day and found my Bourjois 123 CC Cream and now wonder why I ever stopped! It’s a good colour match for my skin, giving great medium coverage. I use the Chanel Les Beige powder to set my makeup and love how this gets rid of any oiliness you don’t want, but somehow maintains a glow to the face. When I bought this the assistant talked me into getting a deeper shade too which I use as my bronzer. I picked up the Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls when I was in California and I use them everyday without fail to add a bronze highlight to my face. To finish the skin I’ve jumped on the bandwagon and have been loving the Millani Luminoso blusher and the Laura Geller Gilded Honey highlighter to add a pop of colour to my cheeks and add a bit of glow.
I tidy up my brows with the ABH Brow Powder in Medium Brown and always prime my lids with the Mac Soft Ochre Paint Pot. I think I’ve used this as way of making my eyeshadow last for at least 8 years (not the same pot!) and haven’t found a better way to prime. For everyday no fuss eyeshadow I reach for the Stilla Eyes Are the Window palette in Mind. I love the neutral matte shades and this has everything I need for a simple look -something to brighten under the brow and the inner corners and nice blendable crease colours.
Where I go a bit overboard is my eyeliner. While the finished effect is just black winged liner – I use 3 different products to achieve it! I use the Bourjois Clubbing liquid liner to get my flick right, use my Little Black Liner from Estee Lauder to go across the lid and fill in the gaps, then I shape and even out with my Maybeline Gel Liner. I’m sure one product will suffice, I’m just yet to find the perfect product to do it for me! *Cry out for recommendations please!* I then finish my eyes with the False Lash Sculpt mascara by L’oreal. When I first got this I was unsure, but now it’s dried out a little, I love it. It really lengthens my lashes and makes them appear thicker.
As this is everyday makeup I don’t bother too much with my lips as I don’t want anything too high maintenance that requires touch ups. So I usually slap on my Lanolips Lemonaid when I start doing my makeup to hydrate my lips (this is the BEST lip treatment EVER!) and finish with a very natural pinky lipstick, Mayflower by Nars.
*Drum Roll* £315.26 WOW-zers… Considering I mix high-end, mid-market and high street products I didn’t think it would be that much! I also never realised how many products I slap on!
