I love getting dressed up for weddings and planning what I’m going to wear to them. We’ve even written a few posts all about wedding guest outfit ideas and how to decide what to wear. But recently I had a harder job trying to choose a suitable outfit as not only did I want to find something wedding appropriate and still “me” – it also needed to flatter my rapidly expanding baby bump. Throw into the mix the fact that the weather has been a bit humid and unpredictable recently I needed to find something that was not only stylish but also comfortable.
Not knowing how “big” I would feel on the day it was important to choose something that would be flattering. The Maya Maternity Sheer Embellished Dress I picked up from ASOS fit the bill perfectly. The floral embellishment on the sheer top is so pretty and delicate and the skirt of the dress is so beautifully cut it would certainly accommodate the bump at all stages of pregnancy.
While it wasn’t a “cheap” dress it was still very reasonable when compared to other occassion-wear brands. I was really impressed with the quality of it and also how true to size the fit was. It’s sometimes hard with maternity-wear to judge sizing but I ordered it in my pre-pregnancy dress size and it fit perfectly. Despite beginning to feel big and uncomfortable now, this dress still made me feel really pretty and elegant – so definitely a great success!
UPDATE 22nd Feb, 2017 : This particular dress is still available and can now be found in the sale! ASOS have certainly pulled it out of the bag and have a whole host of lovely designs for pregnant ladies, below are some of our new favourites.
