Is it me, or has the world gone a little crazy for succulent terrariums? (That’s cacti in a fancy glass dome for you and I… I didn’t know the “posh name” until recently myself.) I’ve seen them all across my Instagram feed; my Pinterest…-there was even a segment about making your own on This Morning recently ( a not so guilty pleasure of mine).
It did however, get me thinking that cacti would make a great alternative to more traditional flowers for you big day. They even have the advantage of lasting longer so you won’t have that sad moment when your bouquet has gone sludgy and stinky and you HAVE to admit defeat and throw it out (can’t just be me?!) So without further ado, here are our fave ways to incorporate succulents and cacti into your big day styling.
Individual plants make great place names and also double up as favours for your guests to take home. (Image Source via Tracey Reynolds Floral Design.)

I love how well succulents pair up with brighter blooms. The vivid pink in this centerpiece provides a fabulous pop of colour. This display would work really well for an outdoor/festival-vibe wedding. Stunning! (Image Source: Bespoke Bride)
A novelty shoe is a guaranteed talking point. How fab are these cactus shoes designed by Man Repeller? You can even remove the optional silver ankle straps for versatile styling. These are exclusive to Net a Porter and available here.
Hope this gave you some ideas.
