Kaviar Gauche 2017 Pockets

I love a pocket…always have and always will. They make you feel powerful when you feel nervous, they make you feel secure when you have nowhere to put your hands and they give you instant comfort when you’re feeling on edge (particularly if you have cold hands like mine!)

I was inspired to write this post today because of my recent blog awards dress from the amazing Katya Katya Shehurina (you can read more about that here).  It was extremely elegant, sophisticated and…it had pockets!  It wasn’t the only reason I chose it but the pockets had a big influence over my decision!

When I was planning my own wedding, pockets in wedding dresses weren’t as common as they are today, and although in the end I never chose a dress with pockets, I still to this day regret that decision (I got married on 5th December 2013 so the cold was a factor!).  I had narrowed it down to two dresses, and the one with pockets was a beautiful, yet simple, Stephanie Allin gown called Maria (it must be popular because it’s one of her ‘Stephanie Loves’ and is still available today!

I personally wouldn’t of put the belt with it but you get the idea! Moving on four and a bit years and designers have embraced the fun element of pockets on wedding dresses so I thought I would round up the best of what 2017 has to offer…

So not only are pockets generally a great addition to a wedding gown/jumpsuit, you can also stash a little lippy and your phone in them too! Win win!
