Having visited the White Gallery last week it was really interesting to see the designers take on coloured wedding gowns – from pretty pastel 3D florals to brave dip dye veils.
Now I’m not a huge fan of the coloured gowns but the shade that caught my eye, and one that I would of considered when getting married, is the baby blue grey (well that’s what I’m calling it anyway!).
It’s not as sickly sweet as baby blue and not as bland as grey – instead it takes on an iridescent feel that looks stylish, classy and suitable for any season. However rather than feature the wedding dresses that are currently in this colour, I thought I’d share with you my favourite options for bridesmaid dresses instead. Mainly because I think it compliments ivory perfectly and allows for some beautiful embellishments to boot!
“Sweeping to the floor is swaths of billowing pale blue chiffon, the Lantern gown perfectly captures the romantic feel of Temperley London’s SpringSummer 2017 collection. Featuring a tulle bodice decorated with iridescent beads and shimmering sequins, the floaty sleeves and tie neck enhance its ethereal quality.
“Inspired by Victorian lace, Needle & Thread’s ‘Meadow’ gown is embroidered with beautiful white flowers. This floor-grazing piece is cut from swathes of delicate lavender tulle and trimmed with a grosgrain band at the waist. The integrated slip lining leaves sheer panels at the neckline and shoulders – show them off with an updo.”
“A standout piece from our Spring collection, the Vila Dress is crafted entirely from intricate lace in a pale grey hue. Super feminine with a tiered ruffle skirt, it’s the perfect dress for weddings and summer parties. Stand collar. Sheer long sleeves. Full lace construction. Tiered ruffle skirt. Keyhole back with button fastening.”
So whether you’re having a Spring, Summer, Autumn or Winter wedding, this colour has it all and it’s unlikely to go out of fashion so you can buy now and know that no guests will be wearing the same!
