Beauty Glow | Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette Review

I remember when Charlotte Tilbury launched her makeup collection, I was so excited about it.  I think 50% of my excitement was based on the rave reviews for the products and the other 50% was on the beautiful rose gold packaging (I’m forever going to be a sucker for packaging!). To say I am a fan of the range is an understatement! Not only does it look beautiful, it’s amazing quality.

When the Instant Look Palette * was released I was certainly very keen to try it out, I’ve been on the lookout for a true, “contains everything” palette for a while to take on my travels and this looked like it would certainly live up to the job.

Charlotte Tilbury is famed for giving her clients a radiant glow, and this palette is designed to give you all you need to get a healthy, glowing look (in just 5 minutes!). It was actually inspired by Poppy Delevigne’s wedding makeup and the flattering rose gold and bronze shades would look perfect whether you’re the bride, a bridesmaid or a wedding guest. The HD formulas mean that you’ll look gorgeous and glowing in photos AND real-life – what more can you ask for from your wedding makeup!

One of the great things about this palette is that it’s easy to use for makeup novices. Step-by-step instructions are provided and you can even go to her website or YouTube channel for really easy to follow tutorials. I love the way this palette clearly marks the order to apply the products – it’s like an uber-glamourous paint by numbers for your face!

I started prepping my face by cleansing, toning and moisturising (as these highly flattering  makeup free early morning ‘before’ photos show!) and then did my base.  I have unfortunately run out of my Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation, so I used my favourite drug store foundation, L’Oreal True Match. I concealed using Bobbi Brown Serum Concealer* (see previous post here)

I then followed the step-by-step instructions for the palette from the website and with the exception of my mascara and lipstick (L’Oreal False Lash Sculpt and Charlotte Tilbury Coachella Coral if you’re wondering), used ONLY this palette to see if you really could get a full face from it.

As expected the quality of the products is amazing. They glide on easily and smoothly and while I can be sceptical about these “suits all” palettes, this really was very flattering. I was slightly worried that the “Cheek Swish” might be too dark, but it wasn’t. Coupled with the “Cheek Pop” it created a really flattering flush of colour which warmed my complexion. I was particularly impressed with the highlighter – I mean, just look at that glow in the after shots!

The final look was a subtle golden glow, an enhanced version of myself – which is exactly the look most brides want for their big day. If you wanted to up the amp a bit more then you could make the eyes even smokier by using eyeliner and maybe a deeper eyeshadow. As I have short stubby eyelashes, for an event or wedding I would probably add individual lashes to make my eyes look a bit more “done”.

The quality of all the products in this is brilliant, they all apply so easily and the colour payoff is immediate. A true testament to this is that I have decided that this will be, (with the exception of CC Cream, lipstick and mascara) the ONLY makeup I’ll pack for my holiday. In fact, if you want to travel light for a honeymoon or vacation, you can’t go far wrong with this.

A big Whisper and Blush thumbs up!
