I think that the Eyelet Detail dress from ASOS will make a great summer wardrobe staple. It has a relaxed fit meaning it would be comfy teamed with some sliders and sunnies for the day, and it has enough detail that by adding heels and a swipe of lipstick you’d be ready for an evening out. I’ll certainly be getting this for my holiday as I love to try and pack lightly, (especially now I also have to lug baby gear about!) and love anything with dual-use. Talking of sunnies, I’ve decided that I really like these Rose Gold round sunglasses from Chloe. I usually go for a more square shape, but for some reason, these are calling to me.
As you can tell by the title, I’m into Pearls at the moment. These Nicholas Kirkwood heels are my dream shoes. A practical “go with nearly everything” black; a sensible heel height; a strap to keep them on my strangely skinny feet and an amazing pearl detail to make them that little bit more interesting than the norm. Fab wedding guest shoes FYI!
When travelling I like comfort but as I usually forgo makeup at airports if I turned up in trackie bottoms and a t-shirt I’d look a mess. I need something comfy AND pulled together and this Hush jumpsuit is just the ticket. Like the eyelet dress, it can be jazzed up and would be super-comfy for a day of sightseeing (or shopping!).
I feel, as beautiful as they are, Self Portrait dresses are beginning to loose what made them special as so many brands are copying their style. And while the quality may not be quite the same as the original, some of the dupes are pretty darn good. That being said, I do love their tops and I think in terms of value for money, you’d get more wear from them. This blue and white lace blouse would be so pretty in the summer teamed with jeans and denim shorts. It could even see you through to autumn with wide legged trousers and a blazer for work or even as wedding guest attire.
A couple of weeks ago I shared an embellished denim jacket from Free People on our Instagram feed that I fell in love with (see here). I even had it in my online basket ready to buy… but I’m glad I didn’t as THIS pearl jacket from River Island landed on ASOS the other day (it’s currently out for delivery to me as I type!). I LOVE this. I’ve been looking for a dress up/dress down denim jacket for ages and this one is perfect.
Finally, with a summer beach holiday approaching, it only seems appropriate to feature a beach bag. Straw bags are so “It” this season with a host of top designers featuring them in their collections. This one is much more reasonable in price and has tassels! For even more wallet-friendly versions, check out TK Maxx. Seriously. I was never one for that place before but my husband loves it and dragged me there the other day. I found jewellery by Dogeared, a pair of Stuart Weitzman sandals , Karl Largerfeld jumpers, and Free People style dresses. Impressed! Plus lots of basket beach bags.
What are you buying this month?
