Lust List For Spring

Self-Portrait | Guipure Lace-trimmed Floral-print Crepe De Chine Dress |£300

Just a couple of weeks ago I was getting all optimistic about the arrival of spring.  It wasn’t warm but it was sunny and almost acceptable to think about bare legs and spring florals…. however, as I am writing, the “beast from the east” has hit and I’m currently wrapped in a rug in front of a fire trying to stay warm.  I’m hoping that planning some spring 2018 purchases might, might, just get me feeling all inspired and ready for warmer times again! Here’s hoping!

Self-Portrait – Guipure Lace-trimmed Floral-print Crepe De Chine Dress £300 | Rixo London Katie Dress £275 | Nicholas Kirkwood Beya Mules £315 | Cult Gaia Circula Tote £246

First up I have been obsessed with this red Self-Portrait dress since I first laid eyes on it. Most people associate the brand with pretty cut-out lacework that’s perfect for spring/summer wedding guest attire (we’ve featured a fair few Self-Potrait numbers on the blog in the past), but as the pieces are at a higher-end price point, I think it’s a good idea to look at items you can wear again and again.  Which is why I love this dress.  I can see it worn now with winter boots, dressed up with heels for a summer event, worn with more sensible shoes for work perhaps teamed with a jacket; and then thrown on with sandals for a more casual vibe. Rixo London is also a brand that I am loving at the moment. Specialising in vintage-inspired prints in fabulous silk fabrics their pieces are beautiful.  I love the subtle side split in their Katie dress and like with the Self-Portrait dress it’s so versatile.

My Nicholas Kirkwood Beya Flats are the best shoe purchase I have ever made.  Seriously.  They are so comfy and I wear them 90% of the time.  They may have been pretty pricey but in terms of cost per wear, they owe me nothing.  Which is why I am seriously considering the pale pink mule version for spring.  While on the subject of accessories, I was never tempted by the Cult Gaia Arch bags that were all over Instagram last summer. However, for some reason, their circular tote made from polished bamboo is really screaming out to me.  It’s highly impractical, everyone can see what’s in your bag and I never have a tidy handbag, but it’ just so cute!

SOLID & STRIPED The Nina One-Piece Swimsuit

Solid and Striped seem to be having a moment and it’s not surprising as their swimsuits look fo flattering, very 1970’s Bond Girl.  I wouldn’t be surprised if I jump on the bandwagon and snap up their Nina One Piece.

I don’t know what it is but for some reason this year I really want to get into Easter in a big way and decorate the house.  Seeing this Easter Wreath has firmly cemented that idea in my head!  I always have candles burning in the house (no matter how much that can annoy my husband as it does slowly mark paintwork!) and I like to tailor them to seasons.  It’s smelt like Christmas for far too long in my house so time for something more fresh and spring-like. Jo Malone candles are some of my favourites as they have the ability to still scent a room when not burning.  However, my life has been changed by the discovery of the candle section in HomeSense… oh. my. God.  So much choice and such reasonable prices!  Why have one candle when you can have ten!

Are you excited for spring?
