Hi all, how is it Wednesday again!
This week I bring you a designer that has conquered all corners of the fashion world, whether that’s bridal, runway, shoes, bags, accessories, beauty and homeware – it’s the Dominican Republic born Oscar de la Renta!
In fact, when checking out the Oscar de la Renta website you could get your entire bridal look all in one place! It was only when I started having a proper look at all his collections that I realised how beautiful and stunning they are, not just the gowns but everything else too…
Anyway I diverse…back to todays actual wedding dress! It’s called ‘Gemma’ (Look 19) and consists of a stunning ivory floral lace caraco with silk petal embroidery and satin ribbon tie, sitting perfectly over a ivory lace embroidered column gown.
I chose it from the Spring 2017 collection and it stood out for its elegance and beauty but with a touch of style and uniqueness. I especially love the silk petals over the feminine capped sleeves. I think this is definitely a ‘hair up’ look, it would be a crime to cover the detail with hair!
Unfortunately for the world of fashion, on 20th October 2014 Oscar de la Renta passed away ‘surrounded by family, friends and more than a few dogs’, but his designs live on via Peter Copping as Creative Director.
Oh and the store on the website also now ships to the UK so you can receive their beautiful range right to your front door!
