I first saw this picture on Pinterest and fell in love with the lacy boho-chic feel of this dress and immediately thought that it would be stunning for a destination wedding or a laid-back, relaxed affair.
Frustratingly it was one of those Pinterest images that doesn’t actually link through to the source (so annoying and such bad Pinterest etiquette!). However, I persevered and managed to dig around to discovered that this gorgeous gown is part of the Isabella collection by Samuelle Couture.
This fitted trumpet silhouette gown is named Isabella and features three quarter length sleeves and an open back. Made from silk organza with Alencon lace overlay and hand-cut appliquéd flowers – it’s just stunning. For brides who have taken inspiration from the sheer dresses seen on the red carpet recently, there’s an option to have this without the lining for a very sexy peek-a-boo of flesh.
British designer Sam Walls Beasley has been designing and creating bespoke wedding dresses for 15 years. Originally from London, Sam now lives in New York where she continues to mix traditionally English and classical feminine styling with post-punk contemporary romanticism for her couture label.
Since establishing her studio in New York, Sam has drawn inspiration from her collaborations with leading designers in haute couture and high fashion. This includes tailoring for A-List celebrities for the MET ball (Kate Winslet, Naomi Watts, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Kate Hudson, Stella McCartney), film premieres (Anne Hathaway at Love and other Drugs), New York fashion week (Victoria Beckham) and numerous fashion stories featured in American Vogue and W magazine. Other clients have included: Michelle Williams, Beyonce Knowles, Alex White, Tabitha Simmons, Grace Coddington, and Mrs Obama. Samuelle incorporates vintage textiles, lace and trims, layers of delicately hand-dyed silks in shades of primrose yellow and vintage rose; hand pleated papery silks, beaded silk chiffons, sheers, and semi sculptural brocades and taffetas to create an ultra feminine silhouette for the modern bride.
I am over-the-moon to have found this label and glad my Pinterest-stalking skills paid off! If you are looking for an ethereal, romantic gown with a modern twist – then this may be the designer for you. I have a feeling we’ll be featuring more from this label.
