Sex and the City was THE TV show to watch. Hundreds of thousands of women would repeatedly binge-watch the box sets (us included!) and while the love lives were the focus of the show, let’s be honest, it was the fashion that kept us all captivated.
Undoubtedly, the most famous pair of shoes owned by Carrie in Sex and The City (and she had A LOT) were the pair of blue Manolo’s she was given by Mr Big as he re-proposed to her in the first SATC movie.
Many brides (quite possibly inspired by the movie) now choose to express their individuality with a pop of colour, or a heavily embellished designer shoe peeping out from under their wedding dresses, and the Manolo’s worn by Carrie are still in high demand from Brides (or anyone who wants a fab pair of heels with the “Wow-factor”). But it is possible to get the Carrie Bradshaw wedding shoe look, at any budget.
The Real Deal…
… The actual shoes (well, not the “actual”ones on Sarah Jessica’s feet, but the ones by Manolo Blahnik) are so popular the Hangisi design forms part of the designer’s ‘Classic’ range and comes in eleven colours no less! (I love the yellow and green ones too!) They’d be a fab treat for anyone wanting to indulge in a timeless pair of party shoes.
The Celebrity Dupe…
…It seems Sarah Jessica Parker can’t get those shoes out of her head either and has created an almost identical pair for her SJP By Sarah Jessica Parker range. These are almost half the price of the Manolo’s and would be perfect for those who want the Carrie Bradshaw shoes, but can’t quite stretch the budget. Unlike other dupes these have the quality and ‘wow-factor’ of the designer pair of heels and something all fans of SATC (or shoes in general) could cherish. These look killer on the Net-A-Porter website teamed with cropped trousers for a smart-casual look!
The High-Street Dupe…
… Eight-times cheaper than the real-deal, Dune have a pair of Hangisi-inspired shoes for just £90. The Breanna shoe comes in navy complete with a square buckle. With four colours including a traditional bridal white, the range also includes a matching handbag. Made from velvet, these shoes are a great way of tapping into the current velvet trend, the “in thing” this party season.
Remember, you can never have too many pairs of shoes… 😉
