Whisper and Blush have been named WINNERS in the individual Wedding category at the UK Blog Awards for the last two years in a row (2016 and 2017). We’re Melissa and Kate and have been friends since the age of 13 (scarily nearly 20 years!). We have always been huge lovers of fashion; keeping a keen eye on the latest trends and obsessing over what the A-list wear on the red carpet.
Whisper and Blush is a wedding style blog giving fashion-loving brides-to-be and their wedding guests inspiration for wedding styling; wedding guest outfits; stylish wedding suppliers and gifts; hair and makeup inspiration and even ideas as to the perfect locations for sophisticated hen do’s, mini-moons and honeymoons.
We hope you like our corner of the internet where we share all things bridal style, so do grab a cuppa and have a browse – and always feel free to comment, or say “Hi” on Twitter and Instagram (@whisperandblush) we’d love to hear from you. xx
Fave Bridal Looks: I love when a bridal gown looks as stunning from the front as it does from the back. For me it’s the little details that make the difference, but most important of all is the bride loving what she’s wearing and owning it. Confidence is the best look of all!
Dream Groom: Hmmm close call between Chris Hemsworth (in Thor not in Home and Away) and Hugh Jackman (minus his Wolverine blades)!
Best Dressed Celebrity Bride: I absolutely loved Fearne Cotton’s white sequin embellished tulle gown. It screamed laid back rock ‘n’ roll but with a beautiful feminine bridal edge. I also loved that she got to show off her shoes as the fabric perfectly cascaded just above the ankle!
Fave Bridal Looks: I love tulle – it’s just so bridal and when else other than your wedding day can you wear it?! I am also a huge fan of colour; soft blushes and pale blues as well as some of the patterned dresses that Brides are starting to wear. Who says a wedding dress needs to be white!?
Dream Groom: David Beckham. Or Jamie Dornan (but from The Fall rather than 50 Shades… he’s hotter with his beard….)
Best Dressed Celebrity Bride: I make no secret of my style crush on Olivia Palermo and totally obsess over her wedding day outfit. I am also so jealous of Beatrice Borromeo when she married into Monaco’s Royal Family and the number of different dresses and styles she managed to rock over her wedding weekend. My favourite look was her lilac Valentino gown.
